Long before dimensions are set or pencil touches paper, William Sofield immerses himself in the characteristics of the surrounding neighborhood, on location, inspiring him to create his styling cues which become the vision for Beckford House and Tower.

Beckford House and Tower’s flooring installation started with a floor by floor self-leveling process which corrects the uneven concrete. The sub-floor system introduces moisture and crack suppressant glues and a sound barrier system to increase privacy for residents. The hardwood is a herringbone pattern that started life as Appalachian white oak, chosen for its uniformity in color and tone. This domestic hardwood is installed unfinished and then sanded, stained in a custom stain, and final finished coats applied. The hardwood flooring installed also has to function as part of a complete flooring system. Delivering on the promise, Beckford House and Tower is a collection of 104 one to six-bedroom condominium residences of exquisite design and is in an exceptional Lower East Side location. Located on 80th and 81st Street these two complimentary structures are gracious.
